Partnership with Reformation Lutheran Church

We are proud to have had a strong partnership with Reformation Lutheran Church for more than 20 years. Reformation Lutheran, located at 35th and Garfield in the heart of Milwaukee, serves individuals in a community that constantly must deal with poverty, violence, drug abuse and other needs. Despite the great challenges facing the community, Reformation's members show incredible faith and the true spirit of giving. We not only want to help this congregation with monetary assistance but we have formed very strong bonds of friendship between our membership.

To enhance our partnership with take opportunities to do joint activities whenever possible. In May of 2007 we hosted Fellowship Day when we invited Reformation members to participate in a joint service and fellowship. In October of each year we close Resurrection to participate in Reformation's annual Blessing Sunday in which they have a special service to recognize their partner congregations. This summer we started a joint garden and had Wednesday night "Digging and Dining" services. Both churches were able to learn more about gardening and each other during these services.

Reformation has various opportunities for adults to serve as mentors for Reformation children. Mentoring is similar to acting as a Big Brother or Big Sister and involves regular contact with the child - fun activities, helping with homework, etc.
