Since 2003, The Reverend Dr. Mary Vance-Welsh has served as RLC's Pastor. And while we're thrilled to have someone with her credentials as our new spiritual leader, we're even happier that to us she is simply, Pastor Mary.

It is her combination of formal education and informal style that makes Pastor Mary such a perfect fit for the congregation at RLC. As a whole, our RLC family is very steeped in the rich traditions of the Lutheran Church, yet we express these feelings through an atmosphere of joy and celebration of God's infinite grace.

Pastor Mary, through her belief in the traditions of the church and her innovative methods of incorporating dance and music into worship, has brought a new spirit and exuberance to the RLC family. Her experience and personal commitments mirror RLC's vision of worship, nurture and outreach. Pastor Mary's spiritual leadership is helping us live our vision today and in the future.

Pastor Mary's background is made up of a variety of educational and professional experiences. Pastor Mary holds a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology, and a Doctor of Theology from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Her undergraduate work includes a B.A. from Valparaiso University. Prior to joining RLC, Pastor Mary was an Interim Pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran, Menomonee Falls and an Associate Pastor at St. Andrew's Lutheran, Racine, Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, Racine and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Chicago.

Today, it is the Resurrection Lutheran family that benefits from Pastor Mary's years of experience and her distinctive combination of commitment to the Lutheran heritage and her innovative approach to weekly worship.
