Mentor Yoking - 7th Grade

Toward the end of the 2nd year (7th Grade) of Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) study, the children will choose an adult from the congregation to serve as a mentor during the 8th Grade Year. The Mentorship Learning Event will serve as an orientation for child, parent and mentor of what is ahead in the coming year. Seventh Grade children and their mentors will design stoles to symbolize their joining together in the work of the Lord. A yoking Ceremony will be celebrated during worship where the children and their mentors will commit to serve and grow together in faith for the coming year.

Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) - 8th Grade

Following two years of study and a mentorship year, candidates will be prepared to affirm their Baptism. The traditional Confirmation Banquet will serve as the Affirmation of Baptism Learning Milestone Event. During this meal of celebration, candidates and their mentors will make a presentation about their year together. Affirmation of Baptism will be celebrated during worship on Pentecost Sunday.
